I am not following Richard around. Ok, it seems I am!

I believe after seeing all the pics that 1 and 3 are true. There is not enough samples for us to declare 2 is true.

Makes me wonder how one would replicate the olive green. PO and then a green dye of some kind?

On edit - or a very light coat of this Testors paint over a cleaned part:

OK, it seems I may have now found a replacement large "3" clip for the lines near the master cylinder. I have also noticed now that the OTHER THREAD for late 67 has been started for discussion (circa after February 1st change-over date), that Jeff posted this one image of the later car from the other thread.

1st question: From these two images (above), it would then be assumed that the EARLY & LATE cars ALL used the same larger "3" near the master cylinder. Is this an accurate assumption?

2nd question: Since the smaller "3" clip found about 5-inches back on the straight section in the trans/driveline runner has been found to be olive drab on at least 2 examples, perhaps the larger "3" clip is also olive drab?

3rd question: Refer to image below with a 2nd LARGE "3" clip found on a later car (notice brake line is under the column, thus late production), I could also assume this 2nd larger "3" WOULD NOT BE FOUND ON EARLY CARS, is that a correct assumption?

Trying to fit my original lines back to the body to convert what I took pictures of at disassembly into a 3-D image, particularly to see how to achieve proper routing over the steering column. I found an image of an inline 6 early car (lines above the column) but it isn't very clear to see the paths of the two lines over the coumn and if there may be another "long-3" clip at the location with an arrow (see attached image below)

Does anyone have a better shot of this area? Unrestored a bonus ;)

I showed this in some other thread, but here is an early unrestored March SJ Shelby STILL sporting the over-column brake lines. I cannot vouch for PO changes, but the car has been shown to be mostly unmolested. IMO the 2/1/67 date shown by vendors for the changeover might be based on when Ford wanted to change, not when they did.

Here is a pic of my parts car -- a SJ brake drum car also in the early March time frame within a few thousand of my Shelby's vin also showing over-column brake lines. This brake drum car is where I found the small '3' clip shown earlier.

In your image here, the brake lines OVER the column look to be parallel to each other and separated by about an inch, your "parts car" image looks like perhaps one of the lines is bent (the one to the RH front wheel). Not likely a 2nd larger "3" clip on either (two provided in my new kit, thinking 1 is not really used).

Sound right so far? Anyone else with information on this detail?

Yeah, I think they are supposed to be parallel.

The first pic of the Shelby was shown to show proximity of the lines to each other and using Jeff's pic you can see where the clip might go. Mine is missing.

The parts car pic shows general orientation of the lines and clips which doesn't appear to change too much between disk and drum until you go outboard of the column.

A couple of the over the steering column (early) routing and close to the change over period

Good enough. My original lines were bent some over the top of the column and the new "Right Stuff" brand isn't exactly the same on some of these bends so I am trying to work with these new lines and I had only mine as a guide and could see an issue. These pictures you (Jeff) and Bill shared, do the trick. I am putting some wide painters tape down around the originals (once straightened), scribing their original paths and then I'll fit the new ones in to match.

Amazing how close these two lines looks to come to the column (like rubbing the column on some examples). It looks like it would be wise to have the column installed first and then mask over the interior color paint to avoid scratching it while I install the new brake tubing.
