I've used, and have recommended, EPI E-Phos 630 for a phosphate solution. Good stuff. I'll wait for someone else to "experiment" with the Inst-Black 333.

Have not used the product before but have had others share that they have on certain parts. From my understanding it produces a darker - more like heat treated tone than fresh cast iron tone if that is what your looking for. Maybe there is a method to lighten the finish up to the original look if indeed it is the darker finish. Sorry have not experimented so can't provide an heal

I've only used it for leaf springs, too dark for most other applications.

I saw this advertised in the restoration resources section of the Dead Nuts On website and is recommended for cast iron parts , I'm thinking this might be how Anghel Resto achieves the darker cast look on their steering boxes and tie rod ends ??

I wouldn't use it on tie rods or steering boxes, way too dark.

For those parts, I do a short dunk in manganese phosphate.

Definitely don't use cast blast!
