FYI with that date it would be for a 68 model year. 67 didn't use that valance until later in production and the date would be too late for 67 production.

End of October doesn't sound ridiculously late to me.
I understand that Shelby used the valances WITHOUT the cutouts but what would the ealiest date known to have the Quad tips on a Mustang (not necessarily a Shelby)?

It seems the Quad tips were out long before October 29th.

Thanks Bob and Rich, It’s a very straight piece so I hope it finds a home.

My 68 had an original valance on the front that was too damaged to use but it was Nov stamped even though the car was built in June of 68. Most all the car has March, April , or May sheetmetal panels but I have found Dec stamped parts buried so deep in the structure, they have to be original. The car still has original floors and paint. Nothing surprises me about the dates, I just figure someone can use either on a 67 or 68.

If that was the case and they were available then it would stand to reason that SA would have ordered their cars with them rather then with no cutouts and have to hand cut each one for the extended period of time that they did until the factory cutout panels were available. C7 marked turn down type duel exhaust tips were used on non cut out rear valances. You may want to start a new thread to get more insight rather then hashing it out here where it can't be easily searched for later.

Given the noticeable differences on a repro panel exhaust openings the vast majority would have no problem using the factory duel exhaust valance on a 67 regardless of date.

For some of us with an untrained eye regarding 67 factory v. repro exhaust valence panel with cutouts:  What are the noticeable differences?

The shape of the opening when you compare one to another . It is hard to exactly describe a shape in words and I don't have a side by side picture comparison of a repro vs a original but maybe Jeff S does.

To add to what Bob said the definition of the bead or raise around the opening is much more defined on the original.

Richard, you beat me to the punch.  Reply #11 on that thread has pictures of the differences that I noticed.
