I recently replaced my 'original' roof console aluminum insert with one from Burton's Antique Auto.
The 'original' piece is not brushed and has more of a shiny chrome like finish. The consensus is that the insert is a 68 insert that the wood grain has been removed. It has a few blemishes , if left plain for a 67 -perfect for a driver or the wood grain applique could be applied for a 68. Three mounting tabs are broken(could be glued). As a new insert is $200 , this would be perfect for a driver restoration@ $20 + shipping.
