65 Z Bar Finish

Hi,
Could someone please tell me what the finish is on the Z Bar on a 65 late May SJ HiPo car?

Natural steel, slightly darkened from the forming process.  A light phosphate dip followed by tumbling would look really nice.

Thanks for the great info. I can do the phosphate but I have no way to tumble it.
