1964 1/2 Dearborn 260 driveshaft markings
« on: November 20, 2013, 10:25:33 AM »
Just cleaning up the drive shaft from my 64 1/2 and found these markings I thought I would share. The car has a scheduled build date of June 30, 1964 and is a 260, 3 speed, 3.00 rear coupe. (Dearborn manufactured).  I found orange on one side of the front yoke and yellow on the other across the u-joint cap area. Just under the u-joint and a little on the shaft itself, I found what appears to be pink markings. Then , about 13 inches down the drive shaft looks to be a redish brown marking around the drive shaft. Further down, measuring from the other end inwards, are two yellow markings at appr. 13 and 17 inches in and about 1 inch wide. At the end of the drive shaft where it meets the pinion yoke, are another set of pink markings over where the caps would be in the shaft itself. I will double check the measurements tonight to be accurate. Hope these are helpful for others.
