Title: Looking for Used or or NOS ignition coil ink stamp pictures
Post by: Kyle Zammit on January 03, 2024, 04:58:32 PM
Hi all,

I am looking for pictures of NOS Original or used Original yellow top ignition coil showing the silver ink stamp with any date code. Just looking for the ink stamp position very top or very lower or centre ??

Thanks Kyle.

Here's a couple. This is a 1965 coil that was painted black, stamped with silver ink and a black painted bracket attached, you can see the negative on the stamp on the inside of the painted bracket. Also is a dimension drawing for a stamp if you get one made. The last is a representation of date codes for 65 and 66 Mustangs. I don't remember the font size. I think it was 12 point, or the font type, but you can use the information as you see fit.

Just a few of the examples I have pictures of have produced and  provided these for years. Pain to to get stamped on coil either using the roll on or roll over methods. But if you get a wiggle in the print there are a number of examples where originally they had similar wiggles in the stamping. Hope this helps

Recently I've been using ink. Paint can get stringy and have more push out it seems but you want a little of that IMHO for the later borders at time

Just from the local craft store

I've used Silver "1250 Aero Ink" in the past. It is epoxy based stamping ink. It is permanent. Epoxy based inks are what Ford used. The problem with epoxy based inks is that the ink pad is a one time only use because you can't remove the epoxy ink from the pad. In other words, you toss it. Usually you can clean the stamp with an appropriate solvent.
The bad news is that apparently the only available 1250 Aero Ink colors are black and white. I did not search e-bay.
