Title: quarter window regulators
Post by: Sunlitgold68 on May 26, 2010, 10:25:50 AM

Is there a part # on the quarter window regulators? Are 68 regulators different from 67's? Thanks

67 and 68 quarter window regulators are interchangeable. I have not seen a part number on the regulators.

Can window regulators be "tightened" up? My window would drop an inch or 2 from driving around ect. Use to pull up one window by hand while cranking it. Not sure if this was from lack of grease or wore out rollers or wore out regulators.

Not really. It sounds like the gear drive mechanism is wearing out for your. There are "adjustments" that can be made to correct most window movement issues...track and guide cleaning, track alignment, stop adjustment, etc.

Are rollers normally replaced? If so are the reproductions any good? Thanks

Rollers that are held on with the spring clips can be replaced. The rollers that are riveted in place are very hard to replace. Typically, I replace the spring clipped rollers that are buggered up.  I usually find good originals to replace with.

Don't know if a 66 is the same as a 67 but my buddy kept having the same problem with his quarter window dropping or slipping. Come to find out someone at one time had removed the roll up stop so when he rolled up the window the gear would go to far on the mechanism and would fall or come out of the track all the time. We put a stop on it and no problem since.
