Good evening,

this is what I have for the first request..
hope this helps you further.
If you want additional information concerning measurements, please ask.
concerning the second question; I hope that others can tune in, my rear end is still in place  ;D
kind regards,
Jeroen

+1, can confirm visuals on Jereon's pictures for dash brace bolts...No help on where to obtain them though.

There are some conflicting bits of information about your request.
Dash bracket to the dash - the book says 356780-S2 bolt, 5/16-18X3/4 pan head but I find nothing confirming this. I've found 378178-S2 bolt, 5/16-18X1.0 hex, disc (the same bolt used on the fenders) and 55736-S2 nut, 5/16-18 hex serrated (the same nut used in the spring shield, aka upper A-arm bumper bracket) used there.
Dash bracket to the firewall - 378735-S2 bolt, 5/16-18X3/4 hex, disc (a shorter version of 378178-S2), or I've found 378178-S2 itself, no separate nut, the bolt goes to a threaded insert.
Rear axle bumper - the book says 41196-S8 5/16-18X5/8 hex thread cutting.
AMK carries separately 378178-S2 and 55736-S2, I could not find a kit. There's a kit of 2 for 41196-S8 as F-1486. I don't know what comes in this kit. Head making will most likely not be as original.

+1.
I had to order them as separate components from AMK. I talked to Max about this at AMK, and a kit should be forthcoming soon.
The hardware that is shown in the previous pictures is what came off of my Dec 66 build.  If you want the AMK numbers, advise. I have them on an AMK invoice.
The steel support was a light gray phosphate.

I still have some cleaning to do on my own parts ...
the steel bracket isn't a bare steel finish, but light gray phosphate?
Since mine is completely rusted, I couldn't tell what the original finish was.
And bolts are also phosphate and oil?
Thanks for the confirmation.
Kind regards,
Jeroen

They are normally have surface rust on them, I would be surprised if they were plated originally. Especially in such a protected area of the car. Have seen other years where you could tell they were possibly phosphated lightly but would not report that the color was "light"  Think the one in the top pictures has been cleaned or blasted ;)

They seem to be often in the same condition as the unplated and unpainted surfaces of the pedals and brackets around them

Jeff,
Mine was phosphate, but VERY light. There was no rust inside the vehicle at all. Not even under the dash where we see light surface rust on the bare metal on most.

Dug one out and can't see any coloration on it. Hmm

Wonder if I can find a do at home phosphate test

Too bad my friend the science teacher is retired and enjoying life. He use to be a great source at testing metals and platings for us in the past. Think he had some access at the "Lab"   ::)

Mine was phosphate, but VERY light.
After 49 years -
That particular pan head screw, 356780-S2, is unique to the 67 dash bracket, no other Mustang application.

Jim, I probably should have specified "Brace" However, the pan head on my '67 is a shorter version of the emergency brake mount at the dash. Most definitely phosphate.

Another characteristic of the brace screw, 356780-S2, is the diameter of the pan head - 0.670inch, also unique.

Rear axle bumper - the book says 41196-S8 5/16-18X5/8 hex thread cutting.
There's a kit of 2 for 41196-S8 as F-1486. I don't know what comes in this kit. Head making will most likely not be as original.
I covered this in reply #3.

In this thread it was said that AMK would have a kit for this dash brace. I need to put this in
my 67 Mustang.  What is the AMK kit number? I have searched their site and not found that kit yet.

Thanks

Sorry, I took this to mean a kit was in the works, and might be available now.   I will order the individual parts then based
on this thread.

Does anyone know if an AMK kit is available for the dash hardware and/or part numbers for same? I'm looking for the brace to dash face hardware (nut and bolt) specifically, I'm good on the brace to "cowl" hardware. My originals have turned up missing.

Thanks

Try the library for part numbers under topic "Mustang Hardware Spreadsheet 67-68". Lots of answers there.
