Title: 67 p/s pump stampings
Post by: 22mafeja on October 20, 2017, 08:37:12 AM
My pump is a reman without tag. The question is as always ford or trw pump . It has some signs stamped on the cast surface close
to the pump shaft. These are clearly P.40.PSO.14 and beneath not so clear AF 3 where the A and F are touching each other.
Is this telling you anything?

Maybe a picture of the area, if possible would help.  Guessing this is not on the seal (the markings)

No (can be faint or a poor casting) FoMoCo in the rectangle to the left (rotation) from those marks?

The TRW casting is identified with a "W" and the Ford Thompson with the FOMOCO trademark. With that said  I see in picture 2 what appears to be a poor looking "W" identification mark.

Not done yet .........

Since it visually lacks that marking then it's likely TRW - Bob is seeing that trademark in your pictures apparently so I think you have two votes  :)

If it is a Trw pump if it hasn`t Fomoco on then we have a winner. I will go for semi gloss black colour then.

And now I am sure it is a Trw. I happened to see a picture of a reman on Ebay where the marks on my pump were clearly
visible and where the Trw was also visible.

Ralf, I would find a tag, it also serves as a washer for assembly.

+1 . Although finding a tag with a exact application stamped into it is desirable If you can't find the exact tag then find a tag regardless of application and paint it along with the pump . You can also just turn it around so the black side is facing out. Once painted it is extremely hard if not impossible to read the stamping on the tag once painted anyway. Regardless something is better then nothing in this situation. ;)
