Working on a 64 1/2 PAce Car Coupe and ready to shoot the lacquer on the interior. I know the 64 white interior color is different than 65, so I had the 8608 Ditzler number matched up to a new PPG number. This white is very off white. Was the original more of a creme color or was it bright white, or should it better match the door panels? Haven't pulled them out yet to try to match. In looking at pictures online it looks like a potpourrie of shades used on restored cars. Remember, this is the interior color not the pace car white. Thanks!

My Ditzler color charts info has the following codes:
#8321 Pace Car White (exterior)
#8608 64-1/2 White (interior)
#8612 65 & 66 White (interior)
#8678 64 -1/2, 65, & 66 Wimbledon White (exterior)
#8608 should be the correct color, are you saying that the #8608 you had mixed up doesn't look correct? Could it be that some of the photos of restored cars you're looking at have mistakenly used one of the other whites?

The Diztler mixes are long gone (PPG bought 'em). In contact with PPG's Color hotline or whatever it was, they came up with a "This is durn' close" mix number of 90011. Very creme colored but you tell me. Was the 64 1/2 interior off white. REAL Duracryl is getting uber expensive - if it ain't right I want to know before I shoot!

Just pulled the door panels out of the box, and the color matches pretty well. Think I'll go with it. Thanks!

If you investigate a little deeper, I'll bet you can find some of the ORIGINAL paint on the back side of some of the interior pieces. I found an almost spotless area of the underside of my quarter trim panels. I had the local PPG jobber shoot that area with their X-Rite "Proffit" machine and mix my paint. It looks perfect. ( The color, not my spray job ) LOL
