Title: Valve Stem Caps

Does anyone know which year Ford went to the gray valve stems caps on the Mustang? I'm thinking '92 because I had a 4cyl. LX that has the 10-hole wheels and it had the gray caps.  My '89 has the black Dill caps with the "nipple."

Weren't the gray caps just used on the spare tire?

I've seen both colors on stock-appearing cars-on the wheels/tires that are on the ground.......
