Title: Glass Installation in Frames

I am about to install my vent glasses and door glasses into their frames.
Is the black tape for this purpose, a double-side/double-stick product with wax-paper peel off, or is a separate adhesive used?

If it is a peel-off tape, is the best way to stick the tape on the edge of the glass first, and use water with a few drops of dishwashing
detergent to keep the tape from sticking as you push it into the frame?

You want "glass tape", which is a rubber friction fit, no sealer.

I just went through this on my fastback. I purchased the glass tape through PS Autoglass http://psautoglass.com/
The tape has a thickness of about 1/16" x 1-1/2" wide and is a tar like material, but easy to work. Make sure you use plenty of soapy water in the frames. I used painters tape blue to hold the glass tape to the glass, wetted with the soapy water on the outside, shoved it into the frame, let dry and then removed the tape. Make sure the frames are spotless!
