Title: Shaker air cleaner base for 70 351c - Is Torino 351c base from 70-71 same thing?
Post by: Bongoman on March 30, 2010, 04:56:59 PM
I'm looking for a shaker base for my 70 351c.  I've been offered a shaker base from a "70 or 71" 351c Torino.  I know the actual scoops are different on the Mustang and Torino but I find it hard to believe that the bases were different (unless the intake manifold on the two cars were different heights).

Perogie's website indicates there were SEVEN different shaker bases manufactured to address the different heights of the various engines but only one for the Mustang 351c.  I'm assuming that same base was used on the Torino in 70 and 71.

Anybody?

Never compared them side to side (have had the Torino version)  but believe them to be different

The Torino 351C shaker base is taller, has an extra ring welded on it. I think it has more to do with the body style than the engine.  Seven different shakers sounds about right, some more common than others.
