69 hood pins
« on: May 13, 2016, 01:59:05 PM »
Do the hood pins on a 69 run parallel with the hood or are the pins installed where they are running horizontal or sideways on the hood? Hope this makes sense how I am asking the question.

Where the pins are located on the radiator support is the starting point.  No I don't understand the parallel or horizontzl of your question.  Brian

He means the hole in the pin
Fore/aft or side to side
I have to check my car cuz I can't remember for certain but my hunch is fore/aft

Brian, if your car is correct that answers my question with the hood pins running in the direction or length of the car instead of the hood pin going into the radiator support pin sideways.

Not sure if it made a difference based on what plant thew car was assembled at but can offer that the handful or very low mile original Deaborn cars appear to have the hood pins installed so that the clips run parallel - front to rear on those cars

Ah! The holes. Front to rear so you stand in front of the car and put the pins straight in, not from the side.

That is what I'm seeing in pictures of unrestored low mileage Dearborn Mach I's
