67 289 exhaust manifold casting #/date
« on: April 07, 2015, 12:21:30 PM »
Would exhaust manifolds C60E-9430/31-F, (correctly dated for the engine build date), be considered correct for a Mustang, vs. the same casting # ending with -A?  The chart I checked listed -F for Ford, and -A specific to  Mustang.  I thought the last digit just indicated the design change.

C6OA-9430-A is for a 390, not a 289. The dash letter is a design change indicator, but could be for any engine. The 390, in this case, is a Mustang used engine as well.

It's actually C60"E"...not "A".  You probably just read my post wrong.

"A" or "E", it's still for a 390.
