Seam sealer in trunk gutter
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:38:12 PM »
On my '68 San Jose FB, I'm trying to replace the seam sealer in the trunk gutter area, where the panels overlap.  Looking at the car, it looks like the sealer was very sparingly forced into the actual seam, not just globbed on like around the cowl, or the drip rail area.

Any recommedations on how (if?) to remove the old stuff, and how to apply the new?

Thanks,

Andrew

The application differed depending on where it was applied (smooth or messy) the worker and the batch of sealant the worker was supplied with.   Many of us use 3M Firm and Fast. I have found that if you apply allot (cowl pinch weld for example) all at one time it can shrink somewhat
