Heavy Duty Suspension

I’ve been searching on the site and just may not be looking in the right place, but what exactly did the heavy duty suspension option consist of for 67 model year? I saw a couple of things about a 7/8 sway bar but nothing else about other components/parts. Just attempting to gather info about my 67 convertible so I can keep my eye out for parts I am missing. It is a 390 car non GT, but it lists the HD suspension as an upgrade.

It included 7/8 sway bar, heavy duty shocks and higher rated springs.

Right on. I have the sway bar but need the right springs. Bought the car as a basket case on a body cart. Have a good amount of the parts, but definitely not everything. Thanks for the info.

Just trying to clarify. Your car was originally equipped with the heavy duty not the competition suspension?

If the heavy duty then its basically the GT suspension without all the exterior frills

See Attached List of Ford P/N from the 65-72 MPC for a 1967 Mustang with the Competition Handling Package. Hope this helps and is not to confusing.

The competition handling package is not the heavy duty suspension package, so I'm confused.

Heavy Duty Suspension - was as Jeff said GT suspension up grades with out the appearance aspects.

Competition Suspension - was for race cars and was a complete package. See attachment

Heavy Duty Suspension cost $30.64

Competition  Suspension cost $388.53 That is why few cars had it.

Attached is a listing of 1967 Factory Options from a 1967 Salesman's price book. Note the components shown for both the Competition Suspension and the Heavy Duty Suspension.

All this helps a ton. To answer Jeff’s question, yes the car is a non GT but has the HD suspension. Not sure what the exterior frills would be. It does list a stripe package.

Here’s a copy of the window sticker that came with the Fancy Marti report. The springs are gone. Didn’t come in the parts boxes and bins when I purchased it from the old owner. So as far as sourcing the correct springs what would be best? Moog or other brand coils for the front then replicate paint marks? And rear wise? There is a local spring company not too far from me that builds new leaf springs, re-arcs etc. I’ve been searching eBay for rears but not much luck yet.

Thanks - just didn't want the thread to be taken over with Comp suspension details  ::) we have a fair number of those so far.  As for "exterior frills" I was referring to the GT package items other than suspension related ones.  Looks like you have your answers at this point - What we're here for
