Wanted 1968 Shelby Lower Side Scoops
« on: April 22, 2019, 05:06:45 AM »
I am looking for either one or a pair of 1968 Shelby scoops. It appears that my car came with one 67 and one 68 lower side scoop. Also if anyone has a photo of the correct mounting holes on the quarter panel that would be appreciated. Ala can someone confirm which is the correct 68 scoop.

Thanks
Mike

The passenger side is correct. It has a single stud and the screw holes are close to the corner, those are the latter style. The early ones moved the holes closer to the center. Our care is #602.

The driver side is original for later production 67 Shelby.

Thanks Bob. The story goes that the original owner walked onto the car lot in '68 and wanted to buy a Shelby, but they didn't have a black Shelby, so the salesman sold him the GT 390 and agreed to put the Shelby scoops on the car. I am unsure if they installed the scoops currently on the car or had a matched set at some point.
