Original 1967 GT 500 P/S Mounting Bracket
« on: August 05, 2020, 09:16:58 AM »
WTB - I am looking for an original power steering mounting bracket for my 1967 GT 500. Would like to have a bracket in nice condition for a concours level car.

Which one? There are two. The stamped steel from the W/P to the pump, or the pump bracket the pump is bolted to? ( The aluminum bracket)

Tom ,you need to know which pump you have TRW or Ford Thompson to determine which aluminum pump bracket you need. The aluminum brackets are marked differently. Both will work but only one is assemblyline correct which from out interactions I know is what you are after. Besides the tag on the back of the pump there is another way to tell which pump you have. The cast iron front of the PS pump will be marked by ether a FOMOCO in the rectangle on the Ford Thompson case or a "W" on the front of the TRW mfg case. Of course you would need to mate the case, tag and the aluminum bracket all the same MFG to be assemblyline correct . FYI the Ford Thompson is painted the blue teal and the TRW is the semigloss black.
