Mustang Plus?
« on: September 19, 2020, 03:13:42 AM »
I've heard a rumor that in 1967 there was a Mustang Plus. Something to do with the employees coming back to work following the strike, the Mustangs were called a Mustang Plus? Just curious if there was ever such a thing.

Might have been a local area or dealer promotion, nothing official from Ford that I've ever heard of.

I guess the Cougar could be considered a Mustang plus from several perspectives  ;)

Didn’t they call the fastback 2+2? It might have been a naming outside of Ford.

I wonder if it had anything to do with your buddy. It seems like I remember something about Mustang Plus (parts business CA) had a car years ago that they put all of their signature parts on for a contest or maybe just advertising. If it got sold and went through a few owners a story could have developed. You know how these urban legends sometimes start. Just a thought because can't recall anything else ether.

Don't believe that Mustangs Plus in Cal (there is was/is another by the same name at one point) named any of their creations the Mustang Plus. Yes know the company and owners well - help start the biz ;)

I like the name "The Ronster".
I've put quite a few of their restomod parts on modified cars.
Their modified suspensions kits are very good, if you don't want to spend big bucks.
