spring seat bolts
« on: April 23, 2011, 11:12:24 PM »
I have several what I thought were original 68 spring seats they have 3/8 NC bolts. I ordered a AMK set of nuts and got 3/8 NF. Were the originals 3/8 NF? Marty

Marty nothing here at hope to check this moment (Calif Special is in the storage building elsewhere and can't be sure if 69's were the same. If someone else doesn't respond I'll check a couple of 68's at the shop this coming week

I'm not home to check but I think the nuts are the same as the rear spring shackles which are NF

If NF means flaired nut then yes it should have the shoulder and tapered flair. Question I have is should it be dyed red?

Believe that the NC and NF refers to National Fine or Coarse threads

I've never seen originals with any sign of red dye on those on any year Mustang or Shelby - just me
