Engine tag location
« on: January 10, 2012, 10:50:37 PM »
I am just checking if the dip stick bolt would be the correct location for the engine ID tag for a 1968 SJ 289 built 7-16-68.
Thanks Marty

Wow that car was built pretty late in the year

These should help - looks pretty consistent with either C or J codes. These are the clearer and prettier examples from the collection

and to add one more, 5/68 thermactor j code. Also I've found the bolt and lock washers appear to be natural

One peculiar thing is apparent, the dip stick tube is bent after installation partially covering the bolt.
