AC compressor support tube
« on: February 13, 2013, 03:24:34 PM »
Hi,

From what I have understood there’s a difference in the shape of the AC compressor support tube on a 1965 and 1966. Is this correct? And if this is the case, what are the differences?

It has to do with whether or not your driver's side valve cover has a oil filler pipe/hole or not.  The later (66 style) had a zig-zag to clear it.
Cars that had the oil fill pipe into the timing chain cover didn't need the zig-zag.

If I remember right, the difference has to do with Ford going to the tall valve-covers in late '66.

Picture C should clear it up.  My March 66 Metuchen C-Code with a Change Level 11 Windsor engine has the bottom type that passes on the OUTSIDE of the oil fill cap.
