Why is my Avatar upside down?

I apologize if this is not the correct area to to post, but I am trying to upload a recent photo of my project and it keeps posting upside down! Doesn't matter which pic I choose off my iPad.

For straight orientated, you have to take pics with an iphone/ipad holding it horizontally and home button to the right.  Transfer your picture to a PC and it will most likely not be oriented correctly either.

I am left handed, so as you guessed I held the pad with the button on the left. I will have to double check before posting again... I see this as an issue with apple, not with me being left handed!
