Question on 65 Dearborn Radiators
« on: August 15, 2013, 08:15:56 PM »
Hi guys,
I have a questiion regarding radiators from Dearborn 1965.
My 65 Fastback is a July Dearborn car, but the original rad is long gone. Have found a 66 rad but looks to be from another plant due to the round edge straps.
Anyway, there's someone here (Australia) selling a 65 rad from a 6cyl Falcon on ebay. Looking at the top tank, it seems similar to what I need and indeed has square straps.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231031239587?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_308wt_1057

My question is would the top tank for this rad be suitable/correct for my 65 Mustang? I would be happy to just use the tank and have the rest of the radiator upgraded/modded to suit V8 if it's suitable. Very, Very hard to find the correct parts over here without paying an arm & a leg for them.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Wazza

The square straps would be correct for your car, the round ones are for a San Jose car.

Lots of good info here:

and if you search you'll find more info on here too.

Looks right to me and is a V8 radiator (hose connections on the same side).
