1968 Shelby GT 500 KR Convertible Windshield Trim
« on: April 25, 2014, 03:19:00 AM »
Hi all,

Just wanted to confirm that the large top cap and side pillars on the windshield trim are stainless for the Convertible? Is the bottom windshield trim stainless as well on this car?

There is an inside trim piece that with the two sun visor ends finish off the top of the windshield from the interior side - this looks like a grey satin type finish - I am curious what type of finish/material this is and what is the best way to repair and finish? Mine has some raised bumps and pits ...

Thanks for all your help and Happy Easter...

Dave

Yes all outside windsheild trim is polished stainless. The header bow and sunvisor brackets are a finish called satin chrome. Its  a process not many do any more and therefore somewhat difficult to find someone to do it. I have a guy in Canada, let me know if you need contact info.
