also unlikely since the HiPo used the same intake manifold as the A & C code cars.

The Hipo used the same 4bbl intake as the A code, but not the C code. C code was a two barrel.
Assuming your point was A & K's used the same intake, and thermostat housing mount was the same for C's as well (as far as I know), so likely all used the same thermostat housing.
