Title: 71 to 73 paint

Looked at a early 70's big bodied vert yesterday. Car seemed to be a fairly original semi unmolested car in the engine compartment at least. The exterior paint had me confused though as it looked to have been maybe lacquer and not enamel. I say this because it looked to have a clear coat. Did the 71 to 73'cars get painted in lacquer? The looked sim to lime gold with a really bright green vinyl/cloth interior. Wow what were they thinking.

No Ford was still using enamel
