Title: 68 lower console

Just wondering if anyone know if the 67 and 68 console are interchangeable from a Manual to a Auto.  I know sounds weird but I have a C-4 transmission in my coupe and found a manual console.

67 consoles are different than 68's but will fit, NOT Concours. The base, plastic sections also differ in at least 6-known ways. Stick Shift or Auto, with or without AC and Convertible or Coupe/Fastback.

It also seems there are variations of how the "WITH AC" versions were cut-out.

Now, simmering this down, it is best to get a plastic base that matches your primary needs. (w-A/C or w/o, If convertible, then for convertible, if stick shift or automatic, as needed. The Auto Trans version can be cut down, a non-AC version can be cut down AND you could even cut down a Coupe/Fastback version to fit a convertible! Hard part is putting back what was cut out. The stick versions have a cut-out that can nearly be hidden under an Auto Trans shifter plate, but you might see a slight gap at the cutout.

Based on comments is anyone aware of a shop that reconditions these 68 Auto lower consoles.  Mine has some broken and cracked plastic frame issues.  Not sure if it even salvageable. 

If not is anyone aware where you can get 68 consoles.  I have seen the 67's available but they look slightly different.
