Title: Single speed wiper motor
Post by: CCP on January 19, 2018, 12:24:40 PM
Putting together a '66 and was wondering is there any way to test the wiper motor before I put it back in? It's a single speed motor. It has a terminal that accepts a 3 wire plug; black, orange and blue. There is also a brass terminal screwed to the body.

 Thanks for any help, Pete.

Sure... Easy one.  Just put it up to a 12 Volt car battery using some probe wires... Done it plenty of times.  Don't forget to ground the unit to the negative side of the battery if there is a provision for it....like a 3rd wire for ground.

Obviously, This should go without saying..Check the Wiring diagram first so you know what wire is what for each color wire...

I don't know what each color wire is off hand without looking it up...but I can only guess that they are +positive, -negative and GND (Ground).  Usually a brass terminal is a GND Ground....so just check what all the wire colors are anyway..

:o)
