1969 Shelby GT 500 temperature gauge
« on: January 31, 2024, 05:02:38 PM »
I can?t get the temperature gauge to work on my 69 GT 500, I took the gauges out and tested the gauge and it worked I?ve grounded the wire on the sensor and the gauge won?t move. What would be the next move.
Thanks in advance.

Check the engine gauge feed harness for continuity. That plugs into the harness coming out of the firewall. Sometimes the wires get brittle and can break. I hope that is given it is easily replaced. If it checks out then you have to move farther back into the factory harness. I wire schematic is necessary so that you know which wire identification color to look for in the harness.

Probably the "1970 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual" (AM0033), available from NPD.
