Convertible top color

I have a 2008 GT/CS convertible with a “black” top on an alloy
grey body, but the top seems to match the grey more than a “black”.
First is this typical of Ford to be more matching to the grey or
was the “black” just more of a grey shade in2008?
Second does anyone know what would be a good product to
restore it back to original?
