Did late production 1965 Mustang Gt's have 1966 Gt gas caps installed at the factory?

No I've not seen that on any unrestored original 65 GT. More likely just someone likely added it since they wanted people to take note that the car was a GT and with the 65 cap it didn't show that details off enough for them. Not like any of the Ford plants didn't have plenty of 65 gas caps
