Thanks Bob who knows why they would have been changed, but looks like several parts were changed over the course of the last 50 years, much like my car
Big surprise . I always find it amazing the push back and skepticism when it is suggested that something has been changed on a 50-55 year old car when the owner may only be able to account for 25 years or so of that.A lot can happen in 2 years what with collisions and the like let alone 50. ;)

Good point. Think of how many perfectly good original parts were just tossed in the garbage because it was cheaper and easier to replace with new jobber store replacements. No wonder it is so hard to find original parts now! I guess I am fortunate to have the original parts that I do

I finally found my originals and after seeing a few of these I noticed that mine has the square FoMoCo insignia and the notations "TOP R.H." and "TOP L.H." on the inside but some of the others floating around being sold do not have that writing.

Service or Repop for those others perhaps?

More likely a repro . Ford typically put their trademark on those parts . Service parts tended to be the 68 closed style when the 67 open style ran out. Of course that was probably in the early 1970's if not earlier.
