Searching for correct bracket form/stamping and plating for factory correct for C8?.version design.
When searching for brackets, there is little to no detail shown to compare to my originals.
Has anyone found a decent replacement the original?
Any suggestions is appreciated.

I am hoping you are referring to the spring steel clip that holds the pads in. If you are then you are in luck because they are commonly included in the various brake hardware kits with the the rubber pin boots and are typically like the assemblyline. Bare steel or a light PO is the typical finish.

Perhaps you can identify the "bracket" by referencing the Ford basic part number based on the attached diagram. That should remove any doubt as to what you are referring to.

I believe the Ford Part Number for the bracket is C8OZ 2B295-
From my searching, this is used one a couple of Ford cars.

For that bracket the originals were galvanized. They also had a Ford trademark stamp on them with no other marks or engineering numbers.
If you are looking for that they make reproductions without any Ford stamping or originals (used or NOS). Should not be a hard part to find.

Don't lose track of the fact that these parts are actually a spring and do need replacement as a consumable part depending on how the car is used. There are service brake hardware kits out there D0OZ-2C077-A

Just for clarification ,the pad retainers are springs but the part that the OP identified he was talking about is not a spring but simply a metal cover.

Just for reference adding a photo of the piece I was talking about. Also shows the original galvanized finish. One of the few parts on Mustangs that was galvanized as it was unusual as a finish and about impossible to get redone today.

Wasn't there also a later service replacement shield marked with Ford or FOMOCO in the oval in script?

The D0OZ hardware kit has it as FoMoCo in script inside of an oval.

The FoMoCo oval is the most common one I ever see both on original and service replacements. This is the only set I have ever come across that is the square FoMoCo so I kept them on my shelf. And also as a reference for the correct finish.

Thanks Marcus never ran across the FoMoCo rectangle but if it was used on service replacements in the 70-plus that might be one reason
