original c6 transmission crossmber mount

need help identifying  anyone know what this would have been for ?  cant find  any pictures or info came from    offset rubber bumper is throwing me off and center section has a 67 date code and all dirt and grease matched, may have been changed when new ?

How did you determine that it had a 67 date code when sheet metal stamping typically doesn't include the year?
