Post by: rcgt350 on January 15, 2023, 05:12:14 PM
Is there anyone out there rebuilding the apron mounted 12Volt solenoids?

Not on a commercial bases any long that I'm aware of. For the upright style takes a special tool or fixture

+1 . Too time consuming for what they could practically charge I heard.

Ok, I have my original 70? version, but it would need replating top and bottom. Painting just doesn?t appeal to me.

I've had modern guts put in original solenoids, re-plated the top and bottom pieces and gotten them riveted back together.  I'm forbidden to say who did it for me as they don't have interest in doing them on a regular basis.  The 4 corner rivets are relatively easy as they're just semi-tubular rivets.  The big rivet in the center is the hard one to get right.
