Title: Trunk Mat & Under Layment (Sports Roof)
Post by: Stangly on April 24, 2016, 07:47:35 PM
I've searched most of the articles on the site in regards to trunk mats & underlayment.  Most of the examples shown are of Shelby's
or Mach I's.  I'm hoping somebody can tell me the correct materials used in a regular SB sports roof.  Did they come with a burtex trunk mat and underlayment or just a mat.  Would the mat finish been the same as the Shelby's and Mach's.  I reviewed Jeff's how to on making your own underlayment and noticed it referenced Shelby's and Mach's which lead me to this question.  Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David,

Not allot of pictures for non-Mach I examples (since these include Shelbys and Boss's built at Dearborn also) but found enough to provide a picture of what was done in this matter

Basically it appears that the sound deadener covers just the gas tank as expected then forward up and onto the rearend hump of the rear floor

Just a little of the sound deadener peeking out in this one but the picture shows its there

And don't forget the spare tire board ;)

Hope these answer your questions

Jeff,

Thanks for taking the time to hunt for some examples of a non-mach car.  These photos will be a huge help in getting things done correctly!
