Does it have anything special like competition handling package?
-
Nothing special as far as suspension.

My Marti Report calls out Heavy Duty Suspension, which I think is the 7/8" sway bar? - I do not know if that is different than the standard 390 sway bar. I am in the process of replacing the bushings and brackets. Was the standard bracket used for the Heavy Duty Suspension and 7/8" sway bar? I know the Competition Handling Package came with a slightly larger sway bar and bracket.
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Charles... I had read that thread a couple of times and could not determine the differences/similarities between “Competition Handling Package” and “Heavy Duty Suspension”. My Marti Report indicates “Heavy Duty Suspension”. Was this the same suspension as the CHP, with the difference being the CHP including a variety of other upgrades such as tires, hub caps, etc?
Thanks
Bill

Believe that Heavy Duty Suspension in 67 was the same as GT Suspension not the Comp Handling Package

My GTA deluxe Marti report does not list any suspension option, but we know that the GT equipment group option included an upgraded suspension. I have quite a few options so could that have been left off? The sway bar (original) is 7/8”

CORRECT! This is also true of the 390 GT's (w/o comp susp.)

Thanks guys... mine measures 7/8”. so I will assume it is correct. It’s a non GT, but has Heavy Duty Suspension. I am afraid to ask about the end links. Would this have come with the standard 1.5” spacer or the longer 2.25” spacer? I have ready a lot on the CHP, but couldn’t find much on the 390 Heavy Duty Suspension.
Thanks again!

Since you don't have the GT equipment group option, it makes sense that the Marti report would show the optional heavy duty suspension. Unless there is evidence otherwise, I would conclude that the heavy duty suspension is the same as what is included with the GT option.
The 67 MPC calls for C0DZ-5A486-B which includes the KD-5490-A spacer, for all models. There is no length listed. I can measure mine tonight if someone doesn't get to it first.

Thanks, John. The KD-5490-A is the smaller 1.5” spacer, according to AMK. Your help is greatly appreciated.

+1 Its the same thing without all the fancy exterior do-dad's :) Before the GT package was available in 65 the heavy duty suspension was the only choice for those that wanted something a little more sporty in the handling department
