I have to replace radiator on my 66 GT.
Questions:
Considering ordering a Ready Rad (previously known as Proliance and Modine) from NPD
This one suitable and OK for judging? Concours driven class
Could I also use Super HE by US radiator?
Should there be a radiator tag on my radiator? Currently does not have one. I believe tag may be C4ZE-Z2, if utilized on this model out of Metuchen at time.

Manual or Auto trans?
The correct radiator is a DEP version that has straps with squared off tops soldered to top tank.
You need an “A” code radiator from NJ or Dearborn car. GT didn’t come with a different rad. Most repo’s I’ve seen look closer to rads used in San Jose and also have the auto trans lower tanks.

Your Metuchen car would not have had a tag on the radiator. The numbers would be stamped on the side support by the voltage regulator, when mounted. For a Metuchen/Dearborn automatic A or C code V8, I believe you should be looking for a -Z1.
None of the aftermarket radiators have the correct core or top tank details. Only way to get this right is to find an original radiator and have it restored/re-cored.

Thanks, have started the search at a few recommended mustang parts sources. Thanks to Scott H(judge) for contact info at a number of possible suppliers.

so ideally i believe I am looking for a C4ZE-8005-Z1 radiator, whatever condition
preferable date mfr stamped- prior to April 1966
If anyone has the above let me know. Thanks

The date stamp will be format Year/Month/Week
So, if you're looking for an April/May '66 one, the date codes would be like 6DA, 6DB... or 6EA, 6EB...
