Title: '71 Mustang Hood Hinge Finish

What is the proper finish for the hood hinges for a '71?

Everything I've read and seen says phosphate and oil. Same for the hood latch and the upper shock mounting plates. I believe the washer on the top of the shock is also but I can't say so with certainty. Perhaps someone can confirm or correct me. I do not want to be spreading erroneous information. Accurate information for these cars seems to be hard to obtain.

Phosphate and oil  (P&O) on both Dearborn and NJ built cars

Same??? for the hood hinges and springs or the latch items?

You might want to reask the question in the 69-70 section or search there first ;)
