I looked up contact glue removal and there were claims that acetone would do that.
I've never tried so here is what I did.
Source the gallon size of acetone. I always have this stuff around.
Source plastic razor blades.
Source stiff plastic brush.
Put some acetone in a smaller container. I use #5 (resists most chemicals) plastic with my favorite being the small applesauce containers.
I put the metal on a stand. Pour an amount that will cover roughly the size of a piece of paper (8.5x11).
Quickly use the brush to break through the top layer of the glue. Then pour some more and let it stand. Before it dries use the plastic razor blade to cut through the glue. You will have to repeat this a few times.
This method will not remove factory paint and leave the surface ready for the next glue application without having to repaint.
Bottom of pic two shows finish one on top and yet to do panel on bottom.
The one on top had much more glue than the bottom panel.
As a further hint, if no one has messed with your fold down area and reshot the metal, the L portion of the fold down can still have original paint and it will give you a great look at original interior paint. Mine sure had a great charcoal metallic which can serve as a guide for color and gloss on other parts.
