Marty, there is an exception to this rule. Cars ordered with competition handling and M/S got the 16:1 steering box with manual pitman arm. SMB-E & SMB-F steering gear boxes.

My SJ 11-04-66 has the C-4ZA 3590A one inch pitman arm and a short shaft.

My 11/2/66 built Small Block WITH tilt should be returned to this scenario (like Marty's car) to be "Concours Correct".
Obviously, my rebuild back in the day simply kept the original gearbox tag, using the junkyard donor to "Gitt-err-Dunn" at that time.
