engine mount plate color

Does anyone know what color the engine mount plate was?  This is the plate that bolts to the engine block, and then the rubber motor mount bolts to it.  My thoughts are that it would be blue, since the engine block is blue.

On my 429CJ I found the plate/adapter between the engine and the rubber motor mount had reminisce of  black paint on it when I tore it down so I returned mine that way. Other years and engines black or bare steel have been used. Don't have any reference pictures  that show that angle - sorry
