Quality of Repop. Grille Trim, '69 Mach
« on: November 17, 2011, 07:21:57 PM »
Has anyone used the reproduction trim that surrounds the grille on a '69?  I'm literally missing everything except for the grille.  I know Corvex used to make a lot of this pot metal trim, and most of it was so thin it was junk.  How are the reproduction trim panels that are available for a '69?  Any comments regarding fit, finish, and how it compares to an original Ford piece is welcome.  I also need the hood molding trim.

I hate to spend a lot of money on reproduction stuff, especially when it might be more beneficial to find good used pieces and polish them. Of course, I'm sure finding good used (and halfway affordable!) pot metal trim at this point is like finding a needle in a haystack.  Were any of these parts plastic, besides the grille, originally, or were they all pot metal?

Thanks!
Too much junk, too little time.
