I found a car 310 serials before mine... and have q's.

I'm travelling for work and was near a place that does a lot of "mustang stuff".  On his lift was a 68 FB, Dearborn car, 8F02C165xxx.  I'm 8F02J166xxx.  His is 310 before mine.  His fenders are stamped "2 16 D2".  My fenders aren't original, but other sheet metal is stamped "2 26 D2".  All this made me curious, on average, how many cars share the same date stampings, or at least most of the same date stampings?

The earlier serial number does not mean the other car was built the same day, week, or month as your car. Cars were not built in numerical order. You have to know the actual build date from the Marti report to know anything.

Stamped sheet metal dates in fenders are pretty meaningless too. Those parts could easily be changed. 50+ years is a long time. Lots could have happened - or not.
