Title: 1966 remote drivers mirror
Post by: Hipo giddyup on February 19, 2018, 08:39:40 AM
 Can anyone tell me what the correct Ford part number would be for an NOS 1966 drivers remote mirror? I assume this would still be under the Rotunda label? I would also like to know what the cable length would be for this mirror from the base out. I’m looking at a few original remote mirrors for the 66 and I want to make sure I get the correct mirror .

Thank you! Maybe someone has a spare handy and can get a measurement of the cables. I want to make sure that I don’t purchase one for Fairlane, etc..  ;)

I think you are going to find that the remote kits are universal, fitting a lot of models. I installed a replacement NOS on my Fastback, kept the installation instructions and there are three sheets for making holes in the door for mirror mounting, Fairlane, Falcon and Mustang.

Thanks Jim. I was actually worried about a “too short” cable.

If I remember right, the C5OZ one is not angled to the inside of the car like the C5ZZ one.  Also, the adjusting knobs are longer on the C5OZ ones.

@Hipo:
I just measured my old 65 remote cable from the Dearborn, MI factory.  As it exits the base plate to the end of the cable, minus the door panel mounted control, it's 18".  Hope this helps.
