1967 GTA Mustang Fog Lights
« on: July 22, 2023, 12:48:36 AM »
Hi all, does anyone have any images of the way in which the fog lights are attached to the grill, and how they are mounted.  Any images of the rear of the grill etc to show the correct brackets and the correct brackets for the grill iteself.

thanks

A lot of people do - and you can too.  It's on page 50 of the electrical assembly manual.   It's readily available at numerous sources.  Here is a link to a hard copy version.  I've not looked for a searchable PDF version so can't say if that format is available or not.  https://www.npdlink.com/product/electrical-assembly-manual-67-mustang/138088?backurl=search%2Fproducts%3Fsearch_terms%3Dmanual%26top_parent%3D200001%26year%3D1967&year=1967

Jeff, I think he is asking about how the fog light assembly attaches on the back side (rear) of the front grille.

Correct, the fog lights on the front grille and how they are attached.  The previous owner made up some rough brackets that have now damaged/broken the Grille.  Also should the wires for the fog lights be at the top or bottom of the buckets once they are fitted.  The bottom makes more sense because of water etc but mine are fitted to the top.  Doesnt seem to be a way to turn them over as they are pre housed with no way to swap sides.

Thanks

Here are a few pictures with a few details and clues. The bracket is attached to the grill with the hex headed sheet metal screws. If I recall correctly two at the bottom of each and one from above. Wire hole and wire for each light are clocked so they are on top and run over the grill arm attachment points.

Might want to look on Ebay there may be an assembled grill with the horse, corral, arms and parts already installed. Its worth a shot. Don't have a 67 Assembly manual handy to see if other details are covered there for the GT or GTAs

Hope this helps a little

You can also find much of what you asked about in the "1967 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual" (AM0018) pg50, and fog light alignment instructions on pg 51. A page is missing that shows under dash wiring. There is also "Ford Car Parts" (aka MPC) available in this forum's library that should have the under dash details. Included in all those drawings are Ford engineering part numbers, Ford hardware part numbers and Ford service stock numbers.
If you do not have a set of Mustang Assembly Manuals for your car you should consider getting a set. (Get the paper instead of the disc. You can write notes on the paper version.)
