Hello all.
A PO was kind enough to spray paint the original white door panels black. They are in great condition and i would like to use them however I'm sure I cannot remove all of the paint and can't paint white over black. Does anyone have a recommendation to remove the original vinyl and re-wrap with new vinyl? Anyone offer such service? Thanks!! Aaron

Aaron,
They're old and I doubt you would be able make them look good. The original cover is heat bonded to the backing. That's a process that would be expensive if you could find someone to do it. I see that the 70 panels aren't cheap, which might be your main incentive. The tradeoff is probable in favor of new repro's.

i've used oven cleaner on plastic with good results...I've never tried it on vinyl but in this situation, it might be worth a try.
That, or sell the originals if they are that nice and invest the funds into the replacements

Gentlemen.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I was afraid that would be the case.
I really did not want to use repros but I may not have a choice....
